What did I do?

During my internship at Presence, I focused on GraceChat, a soft-launch version of an AR social mobile platform.

My role involved providing strategies for effectively launching and populating(“cold-start”) a new chat room created by a user to make their time here, mainly when initial users were inclined to mute themselves in a new social environment. The main goal was to understand what initial engagement users prefer and what features they would love to increase interaction. To learn more about how our users think, behave, and use our product and what they are like as people in real life, I spent over 150 hours conducting field studies within a controlled environment by creating rooms and engaging with users.

We had a lot of learnings on what type of features to implement. But also, in general, a broader understanding of the app's user demographics, including when and how they prefer using it.

Gracechat is a social application created to alleviate loneliness, connect individuals with like-minded friends, and nurture enduring relationships. The platform offers rapid connections, chat functionality, and socializing opportunities within an inclusive virtual community. Users can also explore intricately designed 3D environments and choose from various animated avatars to enhance their interactive experience. It was later launched as HRU.
